Stories for Growth is an educational initiative designed to strengthen literacy and holistic child development in Jamaica. Based on our children's books, Here Comes the Morning and Ian Takes Flight, we create supplemental content that provides children in K-5 with workbooks and activities that integrate arts, math, science, reading, and environmental awareness. Aligned with Jamaica’s National Standards Curriculum, our workbooks foster critical thinking, creativity, a deeper connection to nature, financial literacy and cultural heritage.

We partner with community groups, schools and educational partners on events and would love your support to expand our impact.

Impact Partners

Through sponsorship, we are able to deepen our commitment to literacy and youth development by providing children’s books and educational workbooks to various schools. Partners can adopt a school or adopt a classroom by purchasing books, workbooks, and teacher manuals for students in grades K–5. Sponsors can also support community level events with authors, such as sponsoring books during Read Across Jamaica Week.

Workbooks and Teacher Training

We create stories and characters designed to bridge the gap between home and classroom learning. Just as the TV and film industry builds engagement through familiar characters, we aim to replicate that success by introducing locally relatable characters that children can follow throughout their educational journey.

To make this possible, we produce companion educational workbooks and teacher manuals that align with Jamaica’s National Standards Curriculum and can be adapted for use in international school contexts. Sponsors play a vital role by funding the printing and distribution of these materials, and by supporting educators with accessible, curriculum-aligned resources.

Partner with us to equip teachers and inspire students—one classroom, one book, one character at a time.

In Our Community

Reading should be joyful, communal, and rooted in culture. That’s why we collaborate with our authors and partners to host engaging community-level events like Reggae & Reading—an immersive experience featuring the Bookboys reading their debut title Here Comes the Morning, alongside author and reggae selector Dutty Bookman.

We’re open to participating in school fairs, book festivals, library programs, and cultural events—anywhere families gather to learn and connect.

Inclusive Access

We are committed to creating inclusive reading experiences by producing books and programs that are accessible to visually and hearing-impaired children—through formats like braille, audio narration, and sign language interpretation. We also aim to translate our stories into multiple languages to reflect the rich cultural and linguistic diversity of our communities.

We invite sponsors to collaborate with us by providing funding or in-kind support to help make this vision a reality—ensuring that every child, regardless of ability or language, can experience the joy of reading.
